    @feoh

    When I get a round tuit of sufficient size, I'm going to take a whack at setting up Debian with nosh (http://jdebp.info/Softwares/nosh/)

      @feoh Does #devuan still have the "Hitler was right" guy involved?

      Y'know. This guy? On your mailing list?

        @freya @feoh Devuan is basically all the grumpy Debian veterans who were pissed that the init system was replaced *AT ALL* on Debian, so they forked.

        @techokami @feoh are there Devuan cloud images available with cloud-init? If no, I can install from ISO, I just like autoprovisioning by my hypervisor

          @freya @feoh I have no idea! I'm a Fedora user myself, I'm just aware of the entire Devuan origin story.

            @dashdsrdash You would get along with my other friend from Derry, NH who was also a disciple of djb for yonks and ran djbdns until it died of old age 🙂

            I will freely admit to not caring that much about init systems.

            SysV init worked just fine for my needs for a very long time. It had warts and shortcomings, but all software does.

            nosh does look neat. It definitely "feels" more UNIX-y than systemd, which feels more like an enterprise developer decided to write an init system, missed Spring and Hibernate, and lift and shifted them over to their new project, if only in spirit and bulk 🙂

                          @techokami @CursedSilicon @feoh i knew there was a reason i was giving devuan a very wide berth - i'd forgotten that was it.

                                    I avoid Devuan because the installer sucks, and Antix/MX Linux already does the "debian without systemd"-thing.
                                    (also has some neat GUI-based config tools, that should probably be standard-issue on any graphical Unix offshoot)
