I had a meeting this morning with a local organization for deploying another Frigate NVR, this time with possibly up to 20 cameras. They want it to be completely "offline", not accessible from the internet. So planning on having on an isolated network with Frigate running on MOS (modular operating system, based on Devuan), which made deploying Frigate with docker easier. They are planning to go ahead. This will be my second local installation of Frigate NVR. #frigate #nvr #MOS #DevuanRT: https://social.retroedge.tech/objects/336c29b1-b183-4af8-b243-f8d65fe7def6

@cazabon Perhaps I didn't put it very clearly. I had literally just started preparing to install Devuan dual boot, which is how I found this thread, when I started seeing seeing comments about the maintainer (from memory, "crypto-fascist", but I may be wrong).Something similar happened when I bought a Framework 13--it was the best thing since sliced bread, it was repairable, upgradable etc. until I started enjoying it and then I started seeing comments about how Framework sponsor several Linux distributions, and the maintainer of just *one* of them has displayed some disturbingly bigoted views in his social media. My comment to you wasn't to say people are right or wrong to choose, or not to choose, something with an imperfect background. My comment was on the stupidity of the modern trend to ignore nuance, and make every judgment in single-bit binary

Getting a ThinkPad X13 (AMD Ryzen) ready for someone to look at. He is wanting a replacement for his Chromebook, but heard that I sold ThinkPad laptops. I installed KDE desktop, then applied a ChromeOS theme. I think it looks okay, but really isn't much different than the default Breeze themes, though it does have an annoying (to me) Google logo that flashes on the screen between login and displaying the KDE desktop. I installed both the Brave and Chromium browsers.I may try other KDE themes, but all in all I think this would be a powerful replacement for a Chromebook. #Devuan #Linux #ChromeOS #ThinkPad

I thought Duvuan offered the same installation options as Debian. I usually go with an expert installation, so I never had much trouble navigating the ncurses interface for it.@matthew@social.retroedge.tech
