Son came home today telling me about a class assignment in which he feels pressured by his teacher to use #AI to do a large part of it.

I have zero hope that the teachers or administration will listen to me or even read my entire letter (why bother, have #AI summarize it for you!) but I'm just at such a loss.
Our kids are going to be guinea pigs in the most potentially devastating experiment humanity has ever conducted on itself. WHAT IF IT'S NOT F**KING GREAT?? What if we DO create a generation with absolutely broken critical thinking & problem solving skills???
@syntaxseed Do you know what the objective of the lesson is? There may be legitimate reasons related to AI literacy or AI fluency, but without knowing the objective of the lesson, it's hard to judge. Hopefully the students aren't learning that it's just easier to use AI all the time. Cognitive struggle is important.
You could always ask to see the teacher's lesson plan... -
