@inthehands If they follow proj 2025 (which they have been), those camps are soon to be filling up with LGBTQ and people with "mental" problems. They've stuck to that document since day one of this admin and been successfully following it, these are the next steps.

Not enough resistance for them to slow down.

And, frankly, the resistance needs to be more diverse. Everyone needs to cancel all their subscriptions, move off of their media (meta, xitter, linkedin, google, etc.) and do everything they can to take away the revenue streams of those who built this fascist empire. Any support for one of them is a vote for their policies. Standing in the streets does nothing to hurt them. It does however hurt all the local businesses. And, I suspect, that is exactly what they want.

With respect, if "standing in the streets did nothing to hurt them;" they wouldn't be killing people for doing that.

They fear losing power, status, wealth, & control.

They fear the loss of being able impose misery, suffering, famine, desperation & poverty in others.

From where I sit, I don’t think it’s a trap. It’s been clear for a while that they’re digging themselves deeper in a hole the longer they keep doing what they’ve been doing, and that they’re going to need to declare “MISSION ACCOMPLISHED” so they can switch to some different awful thing.

However, this is very much a “don’t let your guard down” moment. They’re gearing up for some different horrible thing. They’re not disappearing.

@inthehands@hachyderm.io When I read the report about Homan's statements, my immediate thought was that he wants to divide the resistance and the solidarity community, because many people are naturally tired and want to believe that the paramilitary troops will withdraw when the demonstrations subside, while others assume that he is a liar. I think it's a trap, but I'm far away.

@inthehands I admire your optimism and take here. I agree that they're in the consolidation phase. I think they also used this exercise to evaluate response and how the courts, etc. would react to future power-grabs. I look for a big ICE build-up and strikes in the ~six weeks before the midterms to try to destabilize the election and consolidate power.

I think y'all have set a great example for the rest of the country. I wish I could buy you all a beer and hug all the people who have done the needful and displayed the kind of bravery that the U.S. used to be famous for.

@acsawdey @firefly @inthehands It'd be a lot harder if we had a fully functioning free press, but Trump's billionaire buddies have been shutting that down too. (To be fair, this started even before Trump, but has accelerated...)

                                  The Moneyed don't fear death.

They fear losing power, status, wealth, & control.

They fear the loss of being able impose misery, suffering, famine, desperation & poverty in others.

For the Epstein Class, it's entertainment for them.

@Ulrich_the_elder @Npars01 So, send them out to work as farm labor? As janitors?

(I am not in any way demeaning farm labor or janitors. I have profound respect for the people who pick our food and those who keep things clean.

But having the wealthy and powerful serving time while wearing overalls and harvesting lettuce, or mopping floors seems like appropriate punishment. Imagine the Epstein Class, Bondi, JD and Miller out in a field, in dirt... being overseen by members of the UFW. 😁)

This is not a retreat, it is a regrouping.

So glad to see that you know this.

We can not let our guard down. Not now, not for the next 80 years.

                                    @AnnieBuddy @inthehands

What hurt them, was the fascist spectacle that they made of themselves for all the world to see.

At the same time they are still rushing to build mega concentration camps. And they talk nice because they preferably need the signature of some Democrats under the DHS appropriations, to make the medicine go down a little smoother.

But noone in the USA should relax. Yes, hopefully the people in MN can relax a little, but the job of getting the MAGAts out is not done.

Please do not waste your time listening to, reading, or analyzing what Tom Homan actually said this morning. That man is full of shit, everything that comes out of his mouth it shit, and you don’t need to eat it.

I hope ICE and CBP actually leave soon. I’ll believe it when they do. They’re still out there right now. They’re still horrible. They’re still destroying lives •this morning•.

With respect, if "standing in the streets did nothing to hurt them;" they wouldn't be killing people for doing that.

@retech @Gorfram @inthehands standing in the streets is the most effective civil disobedience people can do tbh, combined with striking, woof sheesh.

unless you want to have a hot civil war, being the streets and fucking up government function and commerce is, historically, the number one thing for a civilian population to do to succeed without war. but hey, who knows, maybe ignoring history and "quitting facebook" will actually be the ticket somehow.
