US in closely-guarded talks to open new bases in Greenland

Denmark really should not allow this.

"US officials are seeking to open three new bases in the south of the territory, a semi-autonomous part of Denmark, as they work to resolve a diplomatic crisis sparked by President Donald Trump when he threatened to seize Greenland by force."

@Miro_Collas The US is already allowed to do it, under the 1953 Greenland defence treaty, between the Kingdom of Denmark and USA. Neither the Danish nor the Greenlandic government can refuse the request easily, as this would challenge the treaty (last reaffirmed by Rumsfeld, back in his days). This is in fact a good thing, as this means there is no national security argument for the US to invade Greenland. If they want more bases, they can just put them there.
