in other news...i made a knitting and crochet thing (well, vector symbols)!this started because i was working on another program and got tired of trying to find/use other knitting symbols from pngs, etc.so now what we have is a free, open-source svg set of the craft yarn council's standard knit and crochet chart symbols, with a little web customizer to recolor, resize, and download them.102 symbols total — 81 knit, 21 crochet — plus a customizer that runs straight from github pages.the cyc reviewed and approved the project last week.free, no signup, no tracking — for indie pattern designers, zine makers, teachers, anyone who works with charts and doesn’t want to roll their own symbols.contributions and suggestions welcome — open an issue or pr if there's a symbol you'd like added, a bug to fix, or an improvement you'd like to see.https://leifrogers.github.io/cyc-svgs/future goalposts are more symbols (not just the standard cyc set) that include lace and other complex stitches.boosts appreciated 🧶#knitting #crochet #fiberarts #opensource #svg

This pattern is a little awkward in that there are 2 rows of a color and 1 of white, which either leaves a lot of ends to sew in, or if I carry it along the side and hide with a border the color is always on the wrong side to pick it back up. So I am using 2 balls of the color and 1 of white and trying not to get too tangled.My genius idea on the swatch was “hey, yarn balls have 2 ends, why not work off of both?” This did not work out as well as I hoped, so much tangling

Trying to learn how to #crochet. It's still very confusing to me what holes to put the crochet needle into, how to count chains, what the ...anatomy of the chains and loops and all that jazz is.But we persevere I'm open to suggestions for good videos or articles to teach the basics.
