Pino ha costruito l'ingegnoso veicolo nella sua officina ad Aguacate, una cittadina di 5.000 abitanti, a circa 70 km a est dell'Avana, un tempo fiorente grazie a una raffineria di zucchero ora chiusa. Oggi è circondata da pascoli e cave di pietra dove gli uomini si recano al lavoro con lunghe seghe a mano sulle spalle. La Fiat 126 ha sul retro un “serbatoio” costruito interamente con materiali di recupero e riciclati. Il carbone brucia all'interno di una bombola di propano modificata e sigillata con il coperchio di un trasformatore. Il filtro è fatto con una bottiglia di latte in acciaio inossidabile riempita di vecchi vestiti. A Cuba la benzina è razionata rigorosamente.
