With spring arriving, birds will start looking for nesting cavities. If you want to provide some, please make sure to make it as safe as possible for them. That means predator guards (add a baffle that keeps climbing preds out) as well as monitoring to make sure that they're not being overrun by invasive species. Things are still a bit slow here, and we got some snow yesterday too, but migration is underway! Here you can see some female Redwinged Blackbirds that are finally starting to arrive. Some in the beginning may also be immature males, they look similar. This is with that Ceyomur 4G camera again, I zoomed in to hide the info bar, ha! May temperatures be splendid where you are! A magpie story: two years ago in June, a wind storm blew a fledgling magpie out of the nest at the top of the neighbour’s towering blue spruce. Most of its siblings were able to flutter to a new roost, but this runt was left behind in our yard with an injured leg and not yet able to fly. It was a perilous week that included hazing from unrelated adult magpies, hiding from the other neighbour’s cat, the local coyotes, and crows.1/ #Birds #burd #Magpie #yeg

@Alison I always hated the cold. I'd go in, get my deer quickly and go wit my father (when he was alive) to get him a deer so he stay out of the woods. I made my wife get a license too, so I could bring her deer out
