I guess I was picturing Erlang/Elixir web servers as being stateless, in that they would do all persistence with the relational database, at least for the lightweight processes that handle routing and HTTP request/response. What sort of processes would be alive for a long time for which would contain state that could make hot code reloading difficult?

@blag I’ll add that in some areas (I live in the Midwest) we often call them “koozies” which is a an older brand that were thicker, foam, and not foldable. It became kind of a generic name like “Kleenex”.

(I’m in the middle of those two perspectives.)Here’s a Fedi search you can sort by server size with biggest servers on top. @jonossaseuraava Would definitely second (third, fourth) ddrescue if the target disk wasn't smaller. That would be exactly the use case it's designed for.Best you can do is probably copy all files to the new disk. Recreate partitions, mount as the same hierarchy under e.g. /mnt, then something like# rsync -aAHXSv --exclude=/sys --exclude=/proc --exclude=/dev --exclude=/mnt /./ /mnt/./You will need to reinstall the boot loader on the new disk for bootability.

But it was never approved in Europe, and from what I hear, might have been stopped being marketed in USA, as well. In parts of the world that never had the critical mass of general purpose machines that we Western grew up with, the flood of phones was the moment of mass tech adoption, and in those places, the idea that PCs are the outlier is easy to spread, and they do spread it.
