    Anyone have suggestions for someone who is spice-averse but wants to expand my flavor palate? I love a lot of Indian food, but the spices get in the way, as I have a very bland spice tolerance currently.

    There must be a way to get from here to there without a mouth crisis. πŸ˜€

      @AncTreat5358

      1. Buy spices
      2. As you cook, slowly increase spice amount over time
      3. ?????????
      4. Profit

        @AncTreat5358 perhaps look into dishes that have different sour, bitter, smokey, and salty ingredients if you can have those? Lots of fermented things can be very interesting. Smoking - or different kinds of cooking, can have a lot of different effects on the texture and flavour.

          @AncTreat5358 I think cooking from scratch and leaving out the chili powder will be a good option.

          I make our family's own spice mixes for a range of foods but leave out the salt. Could do the same for your palate

            @CynAq Thanks. I get that. I thought maybe there were certain spices that were more approachable than others to help build tolerance.
