    @RegGuy @benroyce @richlv @paranormal_distribution@fosstodon.org @EUCommission yeah, I'm a big fan of the EU 🙂 I'm happy to be a citizen in an EU country and to be part of this great peace project 🙂

    Is it perfect? No, I don't think so. But it's still a wonderful thing.

    My main wish for the EU would be for it to abandon English as a language. Having English as the main language for intercommunication just tilts the playing field in the direction of the USA and UK.

    @ehrt74 @RegGuy @benroyce @richlv @paranormal_distribution@fosstodon.org @EUCommission as a citizen of the one EU country that is primarily English speaking I cannot support this proposed downgrading of our fine language

      @benroyce @aurochs @phl @EUCommission The commissioners are unelected, the commissioners write laws. The commissioners should be elected. You can disagree if you like, but calling people names doesn't add weight, it reduces it.

      @jtb @aurochs @phl @EUCommission

      Farage loves you and everything you're saying and doing

      appointing bureaucrats is normal in every fucking democracy in the world

      get off your fake fucking high horse

      you are knowingly working right wing troll angles, or you're just that clueless you don't understand how that is all you are doing

      consider the word "clueless" a conscious choice to call you a name

      you have deserved the disrespect

        @benroyce @jtb @aurochs @EUCommission There's a mile of a difference between Farage's bullshit (if not for anything else than that he applied the "unelected!!!1one" screech to every one of the EU officials) and saying that the unelected-because-they're-appointed-several-layers-down officials are not under our democratic control (changing my local rulers doesn't change the commissioners, and commissioners, as mentioned, do not even stand for their home country)

            enjoy the shouting then at an EU social media account on mastodon fruitlessly for your supposedly high minded effort, which, upon reflection, isn't exactly very high minded, is rather confused, and dovetails with right wing troll agendas

            unintentionally

            or intentionally? you tell me, friend

                      @phl @benroyce @jtb @EUCommission I think (this is just my opinion) it is designed this way to force consensus between member states (such as "Hey, Mr. Orban, you accepted to appoin Von Der Leyen").

                        @benroyce @aurochs @jtb @EUCommission Yes, this is surely all a perfectionist hypercritical faragist anti-eu psyop, something that definitely exists and us two are either victims of it or, horror, actual perfectionist hypercritical faragist any-eu psyop agents even! Very realistic, and doesn't at all ignore every single god damned detail we more or less patiently discussed and argued with you.

                                    My guess, it's the long, VERY long "cultivated" "...is the best country in the world." view, combined with an none education about the "rest" of the world.
                                    Me me me ...and someone like the ugly stain in the WH is just the extreme example/peak of it.
                                    That narcissistic arrogance....

                                    it's a symptom of people who have forgotten what they have and have forgotten how to maintain it

                                    they just shout demands for perfection and can do no real work. they don't even know how

                                    they are too entitled

                                    and as their world crumbles, they respond by simply complaining more

                                      The sad and scary part is that at the same time, they are willing to give up a lot of freedom, which they take for granted or even do not recognize as such, in order to expect their self-centered demands to be met.
                                      Even if that means to support autocratic, violent systems.

                                      And yes that "Karen mind" exists everywhere. 😒

                                      As usual we do the same here in germany, just a bit delayed and a bit different. But same vibes... same direction...

                                          @grootinside @richlv @EUCommission

                                          please, keep it together. this is a prayer not a demand

                                          because the usa is lost. we are in recovery mode now, who knows if we even can with all these plutocrats and bigots

                                          it would be a huge blow if germany falls to this shit as well, at least to my psyche. because i like you believe in working for good by doing better as we can, rather than just entitled shouting for perfect. and europe is the anchor of that now in the world. for me at least
