I guess I'll just have kill my instance and leave Mastodon then. I thought Mastodon was something else. Too bad it turned out to be yet another corporate bullshit operation behind the scenes.

https://joinmastodon.org/trademark@joacim I feel like you haven't read the rest of the link you just sent me. Each section exists in context of the other sections. Such as
> Only use the Mastodon marks to accurately identify those goods or services that are built using the Mastodon software.
It sounds like you can use the trademark for "fair" and "nominative" purposes, and for everything else you can just ask them.
