@Sanderde oh I slept on Mushroom. If I could go back, I'd replace it with Split Pea.

There’s nothing wrong with split pea. My wife’s franco- manitobaine and she makes a mean pea soup as well.

@Sanderde oh there's some days I just crave some simple Campbell's Cream of Mushroom with way too many salted crackers.

@chad Of the above, Chicken Noodle, but I really love proper Japanese ramen. I've started making my own shoyu ramen and plan to branch out into other varieties this summer.

@paul_ipv6 I had to look up what this was. Fish chowder?

I'd say that's a hell of a lot more palatable than clam chowder! I'll have to try it.

smoked fish chowder is probably the easy description.

smoked fish (usually haddock), potatoes, cream. definitely does not have the kind of briny tasty clam chowder can.

not traditional but a bit of leek or corn doesn't do badly either.

@curiousrobot I always see pho referred to as a soup.

I'm often not keen of it because they always put egg in it, and I'm not a big egg person.

@chad That's the fun thing about making it at home. I can mess around with ingredients. I actually like the egg although I've yet to really master it yet. I found this book last year that is fun and and great cookbook at the same time.

@chad whoa…what. There’s no egg in pho. You can order the most basic one (steak) and it’s just broth, rice noodles, and thinly sliced meat. Everything else is optional. Oohhhh you might be thinking about ramen!

If you want to try pho - I think you’re YEG area? https://www.phohoanpasteur.ca/edmonton
