Believe it or not, I actually have. A few times too, but it’s thankfully been years since any of that happened to me. Let’s hope it never happens again, shall we? There isn’t a worse feeling of helplessness, rage, and fury.

#PennedPossibilities 982 — For characters with a significant other, what is their happiest shared memory?
For Fenella and Alistair, it’s time spent in the library. Wrapped up in one another on the sofa, both of them reading, a fire warming the room from the hearth, et cetera. Memories like those have withstood the test of time for the pair. If they’re lucky, they might end up together again before the end. (As of right now, they’re only friends but were lovers for a long time.)
For Samuel and Hati, it was the day he realized they could be mates. They talk about it now and have a laugh. He caught her scent and they made eye contact at a party on the Winnter Solstice. They drank, talked about anything and everything, realized how similar they were, and became friends. Much later, they became more, once she realized it as well (that they were meant to be mates, that is).

Alistair: I can’t remember my childhood, not anymore. I don’t know if I was an only child or one of many. It’s a depressing thought. But if I had to choose, and if in this scenario I was still a mortal, I would say that to come from a rather large family sounds comforting and I would lean towards that option. The more, the merrier. In the end, yes, I would rather have siblings aplenty.

I started writing when I was kiddo. I don’t remember my age, but I just know that I was really young. I always played TTRPGs like Dungeons and Dragons or DnD, though, and I’ve always adored that sort of thing. Storytelling, acting, ren fairs, etc. My dad loved bringing that out of me as a kid, especially when he was reading to me or encouraging my writing. Going on hikes with a walking stick and pretending we were hobbits on a long journey and all that. Telling stories is just in my blood. I’m a lot like my daddoo.

I changed the universe’s entire lore based on a wild idea that came to me one night and my girlfriend told me to, and I quote, “go for it,” and I’ve changed everything about who and what Alistair truly is. It was a huge revelation on my part, seeing as I’ve written stories with him for over a decade. He’s different now, and it’s wonderfully refreshing and fun. What I’ve come up with, and how things have changed, added so much depth and substance to the story itself, and made a series all the more possible because this *has* turned into a series by now.

#PennedPossibilities 987 — Do any of your characters have an unusual or uncommon pet? What is it? How did they acquire it?
Vampires keep moths. Alistair is no different in this aspect. Moths find their way to vampiric creatures, often lingering nearby and finding comfort with them. I’ve gone into detail about this in the past. They symbolize a great deal in this supernatural universe.

@therivercrow And believe me, there's gonna be lots of drama. The achy-breaky-feelsy type. Right now, I'm just working on a commissioned fanfiction story for The Thick of It, which I'm loving so much, and it's become very close to the heart. It deals with cancer, infusion therapy, and autoimmune disease, so you can tell *why* it's special, I suppose. But once it's finished, it's right back into my novel. And working on my Star Wars story as well. I miss my Peter Cushing work. 🥰

While I can’t say everything, not yet, I can talk a bit about the scene. It comes later, towards the end of the novel. It’s the moment where Alistair confesses everything to Fenella. She’s the first person he has told (about who and what he is) in ages, and he comes right out and says it, even if it requires a bit of poking and prodding on her end. A confession of that calibre is pure bravery.
