With silent, calm fury. That kind that makes you feel sick, or gives you goosebumps and makes the hair on the back of your neck raise, a fight-or-flight response ready to kick in. Accompanied by a witty quip, perhaps. Or a warning. (And there will only ever be one warning from Alistair, trust me.) He can be rather terrifying when he wants to be. Kindness is what he’d rather show and feel, not fury and rage.

I'm imagining the mocking coming from a rival vampire, or perhaps one of the antagonists. Something of that sort. It happens a lot in this tale.

Alistair would, as I'm sure we're all expecting, scream until his lungs gave out. He's a very old vampire. If he woke up as a werewolf, shit would absolutely hit the fan. Life would be irrevocably changed for him.

Alistair broke a bone as a young boy. It was his arm. He doesn’t even remember why or how it happened, though. As for my other characters, I’m sure some of the mortals have. After all, they’re only human. Accidents happen. Jon has a bad knee, although I’ve never gone into serious detail about it.

Here’s a twist… This wouldn’t be embarrassing for her, but it would be downright humiliating for friends who are fellow werewolves. The answer: If anyone (including this group of friends) ever found out that her *closest* friend was in fact a vampire. That would be Alistair, by the way. She herself wouldn’t be embarrassed about this, she couldn’t care less, but others would be disgusted by her actions.

Hati: I have two answers here. Either Fenella or Duncan. Don’t piss that lass off. Fenella is a feisty one. And it would have to be something hard. Maybe an apple. They hurt like hell. I could imagine her lobbing it right at Alistair’s back if he said the wrong thing at the worst time. As for Duncan, he’s just a petty bastard. Who can say why he’d do it, or what he would reach for first. It depends on what’s around the room, I suppose.

Some of them would. Others not so much.

Alistair has slept in far worse places than a tent. That would be no problem for him. Also, he enjoys the outdoors. Fenella would say “f*ck that” right off the bat. Hati and Sam would probably enjoy it as well. Hati is down to try anything. She’s spontaneous that way. Caden, however, is the one I’m not so sure about. I’m leaning towards no. He would probably hate it and miss his flat (and art business).

Alistair has never been proud of who he is, or what sort of creature he is. I will add, however, that Fenella *is* proud of him, as is Hati as well. While he views himself as a villain, they never have. He’s a hero (but an imperfect one) to them in many ways.

I’ve rambled enough about my writing style and how the writing process goes for me. I’ll talk about what I write for a change. I’m a romance author. I love Romantic Fantasy AKA Romantasy, Dark Romance, Gothic and/or Paranormal Romance, etc. I adore writing all of it, and I’ve dabbled in a lot of genres for my tales. I enjoy delving into original universes for: Sword and Sorcery AKA Heroic Fantasy, Fantasy, SFF, Historical, Horror, Science Fiction, Cyberpunk, HopePunk, Mysteries, and Cozy Fantasy, just to list off a handful of genres. I’ve written (and read, of course) a little bit of everything over the years. I’m a weaver of weird and wonderful tales.

Let’s talk about writing romance for a bit. For me, romance drives the plot in tandem with what’s happening within the universe, and when romantic tension—the “push and pull” of attraction and conflict—directly causes, complicates, or resolves the main storyline’s external events, that’s definitely my bread and butter. Rather than a side story or a subplot, the relationships act as the catalyst for character decisions, raising stakes, and forcing actions that move the narrative forward.

For reasons that will become obvious later, I’ll answer this one about Fenella. She’s from Moray, Scotland. It’s where she was born, lived, died, and became bloodbound AKA became a vampire. She traveled the world for about seven years, after she and Alistair decided to end their love affair, and now she’s back again. She missed it dearly as well. And him, of course.
