I just don’t get it

There’s a few GM sounds I like, like the PMA-5 was GM but had a lot of Roland character, R8 sounds and whatnot

But this stuff is just really icky - millennials will get teary eyed over it and I’m like

Not sure it's just nostalgia though; something so disturbingly "nothing" and pure ugly about those sounds that is really alluring now. But as a kid I hated them and hooked up the MIDI to an external module.
