                        yeah... i go through this at every ren faire, pirate movie, etc. showing a guitar. what we'd recognize as a guitar was a 19th century evolution of earlier instruments... i wasn't a wizard in history but do know that the renaissance was pre-1800s...

                            @catsalad Ninjas (as we know them) didn't exist. Most of their lore was made up either as legends, for tourism, or are from movies

                            The real Shinobi were regular Samurai who did recon, sabotage and subterfuge, didn't use throwing stars, didn't use straight "ninja swords", and weren't assassins. In fact all the Ninja manuals are just quoting The Art of War, and are relatively mundane survival guides, like having recipes for Tofu

                                          At least ancient people had more creativity when making up their gods

                                          Now we just have christianity with a god with no actual description, Jewish faith that just piggybacks off christianity, and Islam that just has a prophet that was a kid diddler.
