Fedi Hive Mind - What should software free of AI be labeled?

"Human Certified"
@mastodonmigration @viennawriter I don't like anything with "human" in it though, because it isn't a matter of species. For the moment, we know no other species that writes code, makes music etc, but if we encounter one that does, their creations are equally valid. (Yes, also if it's a robot like the ones in sci fi, I think.) It's about how it was made and not by whom. That said, a hand is also a bit human-centric.

After sitting with it a while, agree. It feels like "human" has kind of a yuck factor used in this context. Leaning toward "AI Free" or "GenAI Free"

Just fooling around with it now...
@mastodonmigration Putting the 'human made' inside the circle is confusing. Looks almost like it's banning human-made. Perhaps that text should be outside the circle? Things in the circle are banned!

@pre @mastodonmigration You need two logos, certified human, and certified AI free.

First rule of brainstorming is that there are no bad ideas, and the second rule is no disparaging anyone's contributions.
If you read down here you may find suggestions that are half formed, but may lead your thoughts in a new direction. That's the process. We are all friends here. Let's noodle this one together.
OK team, what do we think of this?

@mastodonmigration I still don't like the word "GenAI" in there. After the logo above clearly says "no AI", the text saying "GenAI" suggests weasel-wording to the effect of "there might be some other sort of AI in here that we're not telling you about".
To a normie audience, the scope of "GenAI" isn't clear. They might think it just means slop that originated from a small prompt, not "paraphrasing", "grammar correction", "summarization", "style change", "visual filters", "resolution enhancement", etc. that are all technically "generative" (confabulating bullshit details out of the statistical models) but which normies don't necessarily think of as such.

Good points. Thanks.

I would like to disparage the bad idea that whether or not your code is slop should be represented by a trade industry style advertising campaign

Why? Curious about your thinking here?

Fedi Hive Mind - What should software free of AI be labeled?
A decision by @Blender to take money from Anthopic, and a policy by @redox to ban all LLM generated code spotlights the question.
Other industries have used badging like Sugar Free, Low Tar, Alcohol Free, 100% Cotton, and Organic.
What's a good label for code that is certified free of any LLM generated code?
So far suggestions include: AI Free, Organic Code, Not By AI, LLM Free, 100% Human, No LLM, No AI
Thoughts? Ideas?
-
Generally agree. Trying to find the right words. "Human Made" and "LLM Free" have been suggested, but somehow seem clunky.

@mastodonmigration @Z_Zed_Zed "LLM" does not encompass slop models that are not in the domain of language. Like all of the imagery/video stuff.

@mastodonmigration @Z_Zed_Zed The *only* term that encompasses the whole humanity-hostile political program marketed as "AI" is "AI".

ads shit in your head. even if the ads mean well, even if the mission is holy
you'll spend all this time constructing some kind of fucking Brand and it will immediately be coopted by AI psychos because taking what you made is what they do
anthropic can put 1000% HUMAN MADE on their website because, when you get right down to it, all technology is. that's what makes it technology.
further you have no mechanism to enforce the accuracy of this ad campaign; what are you gonna do about it? sue the trillionaires?
finally there's something deeply ironic about abstracting away human communication in the process of insisting that your work is human communication. fascinatingly low-level self-own. teleologically unsustainable worldview. not gonna make it

Right. It is hard to be comprehensive and also specific. Here is a version with just "AI Free". The issue here, and it may not be a problem is repeating "AI" in two places.

@mastodonmigration @Z_Zed_Zed Yeah, I see how that can be meh.
But the problem here is that if you're not very explicitly comprehensive, it looks like you're trying to weasel in acceptance of some specific kinds of "AI".

@pmjv @khm @mastodonmigration not like there's much to even know. You just type like a typewriter monkey then get something in return
