Fedi Hive Mind - What should software free of AI be labeled?
A decision by @Blender to take money from Anthopic, and a policy by @redox to ban all LLM generated code spotlights the question.
Other industries have used badging like Sugar Free, Low Tar, Alcohol Free, 100% Cotton, and Organic.
What's a good label for code that is certified free of any LLM generated code?
So far suggestions include: AI Free, Organic Code, Not By AI, LLM Free, 100% Human, No LLM, No AI
Thoughts? Ideas?
@mastodonmigration @Blender @redox
I fancy "LLM-free" or "100% human", or a combination of the two.Roops

Or how about a hand?
* it's a stop sign
* people use hands to make things
* people can draw hands; ai for a long time couldn't, as we all know -

IMO what is better is something more positive or at least neutral that allows for organizing around the practice of keeping code bases free of LLM generated content.
That said SLOP is certainly a good term to use when criticizing slop.
Thanks for your contribution!

I like the sound of "Not By AI".
The LLM ones seem too specific because wouldn't that leave out image generation?

@viennawriter @Carl_Gylling @mastodonmigration Might use "ante mortem" as well, since slop does not even need the monkeys.

"Human Intelligence" "HI" "100% HI"

First rule of brainstorming is that there are no bad ideas, and the second rule is no disparaging anyone's contributions.
If you read down here you may find suggestions that are half formed, but may lead your thoughts in a new direction. That's the process. We are all friends here. Let's noodle this one together.

Cool. Did you make that?

"Human Made" "Made By Humans"
@mastodonmigration @Carl_Gylling That’s what other trades like authors and designers also came up with. Wouldn’t hurt to find something that could fit all of us creatives - counting devs as creatives and I find it quite fitting.

@mastodonmigration @Carl_Gylling I put „actually human“ on my blog. And yes, that‘s meant with a touch of humour.

Good thinking. "Human Authored" works well, and sort of fits for code too, but not really for art or music.
Maybe "Human Made" is even more general... "100% Human Made" "100% Human"
