The only real way out would be to switch platforms or build new ones, but let’s be honest: that’s not going to happen anytime soon since people don’t change habits easily. I'm so old that I remember when our state first got Cable Television. The big feature was that we could all watch movies with no ads. Pretty soon it was you could watch movies with no ads on certain channels. Then it was if you paid extra for premium channels, you could watch certain movies without ads sometimes. That's when I got rid of Cable.
