    @ppulfer @neil you probably have to reboot the computer or something. Emacs is simple, C-x C-c, followed by 'y' if confirm-kill-emacs is set.

      @neil Been using vi(m) for 30+ years. But Markdown, haven't got there yet.

      @roadskater @neil You don't need to. All these jobs can be done with LaTeX, too.. and vim to edit the LaTeX, of course (or emacs, if you are using free software instead of open source).

        @harib_murshidi @ghouston @neil, you joke but if the current trend of dishwashers requiring an app and wifi, you might as well install Linux and Vim in the future to start custom washing settings ๐Ÿ™‚

                          @neil interesting. I default to md files but in a world where we can use llms to easily convert ppt to md and vice versa i donโ€™t worry about this as much anymore

                            I find writing presentations in Markdown, with CSS for styling, much easier than faffing with a visual editor, but then I haven't used a visual presentation editor in years and so might be out of touch.
