    @benroyce @Tofu_Golem @mistergibson If harm reduction requires genocide, then no. That's a trap to get people to support people who shouldn't be in power.

    @mason @Tofu_Golem @mistergibson

    mason: gaza is experiencing a genocide. so that is what you must deal with. all you are really is saying is "i don't want to deal with reality"

    well, you need to deal with it. make the choice for harm reduction

    if someone has thrown up all over themselves are you helping them by saying "i ain't dealing with that" and walking away?

    maybe you don't feel a need to help them

    then, according to this analogy, you are saying you don't care about improving the world

      @benroyce
      We should note that Péter Magyar is far from a Mr. Perfect. For one, he's a staunch conservative who embraces several of Orbán's ideas and program points. However, he's not corrupt, he's not pro-Russian, he's not an autocrat. The Hungarian people know you don't get from hell to heaven in a day and that the first step in getting away from hell is to vote AGAINST hell and FOR whoever is NOT hell. That's precisely what they did, and what America DIDN'T do in November 2024.

      This is so true. If you want perfection, you're on the wrong planet.

        Right. It's not enough to put the fascists in prison, it's got to be impossible for this disaster to be repeated.

          @chemoelectric @blotosmetek @Eetschrijver @mistergibson

          "speak little, but do much"

          i would settle for

          "speak at least coherently, and do the bare minimum"

          because that's the measure we're currently failing on

          I grok. If you follow my stuff more closely than anyone actually does, you know that coherence is precisely what I desire to receive and do not generally obtain unless I construct it for myself, if I can manage it.

          (And I am running out of time and no one will listen. I suppose this is what William Blake felt like. Whatever the heck he was trying to say. 🙂 )

              His dark legacy will make Bondi seem rational by comparison

                          That’s easy to say. But I will freely admit I am going to make no effort. I am more likely to reach an understanding by complete accident, and then it is unlikely, and anyone who says they believe me is full of it.

                                  @benroyce I have tried A1, HP (not the Canadian variant, but the British/Netherlands kind, which is a very good ketchup alternative), Heinz 57 sauce (similar to the previous), some stuff of some ‘Southern-culture’ reminiscent brand not worth remembering, and ‘London Pub’ brand. And ‘London Pub’ brand was by some chance the best. It was the thickest and the most steak-saucy in flavor.

                                      @benroyce It sounds too Southern to be to my taste LOL! I’m being funny, it might be great. But I am not a gastronomist, I am a polymath. So far I have found London Pub and it is EXCELLENT but I also keep A1 and HP present. And HP is unusual in the U.S. but the normal stuff in the U.K.

                                      There is no need for the Irish ‘Chef’s’ sauce if you have ‘London Pub’, and you can buy ‘London Pub’ at the local supermarket.

                                        @benroyce They want you to think ‘HP’ is some European code. It stands for ‘Heinz Products’. HP Sauce in the U.K. is similar to Heinz 57 sauce in the U.S. And has the same formula in the Netherlands (from what I can tell) but a different one in Canada. So it is just ketchup. All these steak sauces are just spicy variants of ketchup.

                                        I have no objection to them whatsoever, if they be recognized as what they be.

                                          @benroyce Or, in very short, I must order some Sweet Baby Rays to prove every Rutgersensian word of mine is superfluous and easily rendered thoroughly wrong!
