Hearing from clients overseas (India, APAC) that their on hand workstation replacement hard drive inventory is empty. They have no drives in reserve.

There are two issues being reported, first that the corporate supply chain for new hard drives has dried up and second the retail cost of replacement drives is far too expensive for SMBs.

IT people are resourceful and will probably be able to keep things running for a while. But eventually all drives fail and the market needs to ramp up production. Or shift back away from producing AI related hardware to desktop hardware.

@Walker I think refurb supply chain will grow, all the datacenters have to upgrade - what happens to all the drives that have been running continuously for the last 3-5 years? secondary mkts will have some deals. the lack of supply hurts consumers and small biz but i think the mkts will adjust eventually though probably not soon - my amateur opine
