Optionally 1 tbsp of panela brown cane sugar for 400g of total product.Sugar content: black chocolate bar 14% * 1/4 + butter 0.6% * 1/4 + walnuts 2.6% * 1/2 = 5.7% (about the same as milk). Plus another 1% when adding panela sugar.
Kids devour it when spread on bread.
Shop-bought:
* Nutella has 56.3% sugar, with 13% hazelnuts only.
* Bonne Mamam hazenult and cocoa spread has 51% sugar, with 20% hazelnuts only.Home made is also cheaper, by weight. There really isn’t any good reason whatsoever for buying “nutella” on a shop.
None whatsoever. It’s like buying hazelnut- and cocoa-flavoured sugar with palm oil.

On how to make it:
Place butter and chocolate into a bowl or small glass jug in the microwave for 1 minute at 600 W (about half power). Stir with a spoon as best you can. Then another 30 to 45 seconds, and done. No worries if chocolate is still clumpy, stir and it will melt. Don't overheat.
While waiting for the microwave, ground the nuts in a small kitchen blender, the kind you might have used to make baby food (that's where ours comes from).
Amounts can be approximate, very permissive recipe.
Mix in the nuts with the melted butter and chocolate. May seem like too big an amount of nuts but it isn't.
Optionally add in other ingredients (sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg) but no need at all.
Ready to serve. Spread on pancakes or toast. Best when warm.
Stores well in the fridge for days. Just warm it up gently in the microwave (30 seconds at 600 W or so, depends on the amount).
