          I am desperate for colorful Big & Tall wear for husband. The man just wants to dress like a living crayon box, and all the affordable stuff is black, charcoal, and navy. 😭

                    @alice *Sigh*

                    I’ve been called gay on LinkedIn just because my brand/website uses a colorful muted palette.

                    Let’s leave aside the fact that “gay” is being used as an insult.

                        @alice I was in a sweater shop in Ireland. The woman at the counter showed me the men's section, with the color choices being dark green, dark blue, grey, and greyer. I gestured towards the women's section and said, "what about those?"

                        She looked at me, startled, and said, "Surely you wouldn't be seen in public wearing those!" It was all I could do to keep a straight face.

                            It's a bit fucked up how my daughter is 9 and my son is 6 but it's my son that isn't allowed wear bright colors any more according to supermarket clothes retailers.

                            There's an expectation for if the colors are from a computer game.

                            (Online seems to be the way to go though, we've got him stuff he loves)

                              @alice@lgbtqia.space omg I was just thinking this yesterday as I walked into the office to see a sea of plain. I've got my summer wardrobe full of colour lined up and ready. People generally compliment it if they say anything at all.

                              It's really too bad it's not easier to find the colourful clothes. I've built my collection over years and about half are "Hawaiian" style shirts.

                              Unlock the colour!

                                @alice Plus for those who don't like bright solid colors (perhaps due to trauma with toxic positivity), multi-color plaids exist (this is what I do when not at home) (I am a plaid enjoyer).

                                    @divVerent @alice It's a whole thing - the Great Male Renunciation. Suddenly in the 18th century men switched from dressing colorfully and flamboyantly to wearing almost nothing but suits.
