@scalzi The first film's success opened the door to more films and the "New Hope" label. The rather odd of idea of making prequels to provide backstory for "Star Wars" triggered the name change. That backstory might have been provided via flashbacks in sequel films.

PS: she is the only one of the two to have won an Oscar, and the only one in the creative division of Star Wars to do so. the franchise is notorious for winning in the tech categories not the creative ones. so it’s kinda poetic justice given his vigorous attempts at erasing her from the franchise’s history.

@scalzi Saw the first three "real" Star Wars movies in theaters, as they were released. The first one was the best, along with the great music score.

I later saw "episode 1" and couldn't watch half of it. Gah. Gave up on the series then.
