this machine's display is color calibrated at the factory, but its a 5 year old machinesame hardware + software, but hard mode, got 41.79 (also out of 50)

Seems like some of it is skill at using the controls. I was expecting it to be choosing from a line up.

@kottke Pantone has built an industry in this.
I'd say "monopoly", but I know it's not (despite their attempts). A different colour reference system (the Munsell system, looking like "10YR 3/4" etc) was chosen for rock descriptions in the 1930s, and isn't going anywhere this Myr.

@kottke 47.05/50 I just like colours... I think that knowing different names besides the basic ones helps because I could articulate in my head what colour I was looking at.
