            @bloor

            According to this highly scientific poll, this matter has been settled.

            Rafael Pérez 🌱 (@rperezrosario@mastodon.social)

            Now that this important problem has been settled, repeat after me: "Don't believe es-queue-el is a sequel." Thank you, and good night.

                @bloor

                personally, i've always pronounced SQL as "squeal", since that's usually my reaction when i have to deal with it.

                DNS could be "dins". with small TTLs, it's really really noisy.

                                    @robinadams @bloor I started out calling it "My Squirrel" before I'd ever heard anyone say "sequel," and that is how it will forever be in my head.

                                    "I have to run a squirrel query."

                                    "I'm having trouble running a join on these squirrel tables."

                                    It's objectively better this way.
