It's so funny to me that iPods are coming back in style because no one has made anything better in the last 20 years. As in, people are buying 20 year old Apple devices rather than the modern equivalents because the modern equivalents are all shitty knock-offs of the 20 year old Apple devices instead of actual good devices in their own right.

I can't believe Sora is dead.@JasonBoyer Most people that I know didn't play 3, including myself. I just didn't hear great things compared to 1 and 2.

Things like my Tangara (for music), my TrimUI Brick (for games), my Kobo Clara BW (for books), and so on. They're all small, low-power devices that'll last a while on a charge and are typically ready to go whenever I am.
The one exception is my "portable TV" device, which is a Pixel Tablet. It's the largest and heaviest device in my bag, it runs GrapheneOS, and while it does last quite a while on a charge when in use, the standby time is awful compared to everything else in the bag because it's a full computer.
All I really need is a screen that can connect to my Jellyfin server over Tailscale and play videos. If the Pixel Tablet is the best solution for that, I guess I'll stick with it. I'm just hoping for something a bit more single purpose and with slightly better standby time if I can get it. And a headphone jack wouldn't hurt.

I typically love major software releases.@wonkothesane Not at all, no. I don't know anyone that I'd even use it with.

One thing that I really hope for in the future is improvement for both @CoMaps and @organicmaps when it comes to searching for and finding residential addresses.@cassidy I sort of understand the logic, but at the same time, there's a pretty massive gap here when it comes to actual usability. I'm sure there are people smarter than me working on this stuff, but if the final answer here is waiting for individuals to map out private residential areas, I'm not sure that I'd personally consider these maps to be extremely usable any time soon. And I'm much more willing to compromise on tech than the average person.

It sure wouldn't be very kawaii if a single company was running this entire industry in the US, huh.RE: https://infosec.exchange/@BleepingComputer/116280110473285420

The majority of the time I try to do so, they can't quite find what I'm looking for. Typically the home address of a friend. I get why this might be challenging given that people don't typically spend time mapping out private residential areas, but I'm not sure how else I'm supposed to avoid falling back to Google or Apple when it comes to navigation.

Welp, #Huel got bought out by a multinational corporation.https://www.reddit.com/r/Huel/comments/1s1b8b9/huel_has_agreed_to_join_danone_here_is_everything/@heygarrett Wow, those comments are brutal. This is a huge shame, but honestly, I didn't really feel any brand loyalty towards Huel. They were just the best option in a sea of mid options. I guess I'll see what else pops up to fill the void.

I'd been a little bit concerned that the kernel was stuck on the same release for so long, but they really did turn things around quickly on their end.
