@EF @nina_kali_nina I want YouTube to count down a session to only allow links to any video that’s shorter than the last — it has to end like sands through the hourglass

I've set "digital well-being" preferences on my phone to only allow me 30 minutes of Firefox a day. -
Does Apple still not have any official accounts on Mastodon (or Bluesky)?@FrChazzz @siracusa it should be as big of a deal for companies as setting up a web server
Or maybe, more to the point, an email server — which has a necessary labyrinth of trust hierarchies these days
(and is a fascinate analogue into what we need to do with individual accounts, as a peer-to-peer “social trust” mechanism)

Does Apple still not have any official accounts on Mastodon (or Bluesky)?@mpfef98 aren’t there bots for that? I used to know about this … actually there’s one last account I do want to follow, so maybe I should do this myself

Does Apple still not have any official accounts on Mastodon (or Bluesky)?@davepeck @siracusa Stay in touch. I want to spin something up for social or political movements — to the point of being as non-partisan as the ACLU, defending all sides
or support someone else doing it
And then buttress that by doing to online opinions what TLS-PSK does to encryption: build Automated Trust Pyramids for social media accounts, where you can inherit trust score coefficients from other people, or set your own trust scores for people that have earned your trust in real life.

Is it only me…?@europlus nope, and we deserve to redirect some of the scorn for Comic Sans, to here

I hacked car charging to work with my electric bike!@alda @theresnotime @mattgrayyes imagine any public transit with USB-C
They basically started rolling out USB-A in the late 2010s, so we’re only *checks watch* 20 years away from getting USB-C in the open public spaces

lol.@younata oh I thought you meant “b”luesky

Don’t worry, they’re just small time simps who went all-in and just need one more surge to pump and dump their holdings

Bad: sending confidential info in email as password-protected PDFsWorse: using the client’s account number as the passwordWorst: including the account number in the subject of the email and in the file name itself -
I've gone down a deep rabbit hole working on a strange new project: a standalone After Dark module player for modern macOS.@eedly @gparker @jcdvore @halcyon @csilverman @root42 yeah I never got to try the TNG ones, but it was the TOS ones that live in my brain because our high school computing studies teacher had the “Mission Control” one running whenever he spoke long enough to forget to prevent it starting
“Scotty … give me that POWER!”
Its ultimate goal (I felt) was to be a low-CPU simulation of a TV episode generator.
