CIRCLE WITH A DOT

Been pretty happy with the "reader mode" button in mobile Firefox lately. In particular, it's good at dismissing paywall divs that block page content. But it looks like news services are pushing back: today I found a WSJ article that force-reloaded the page when I activated reader mode. Funny to see another front in the war on consumers open in real time.

@futurebird a keyring USB-C cable seems like it might get use turning a personal phone into a useful desktop environment (plugging it into a monitor like some dongle and relying on the monitor's built-in USB hub for keyboard and mouse input).

@futurebird so-called ultra-filtered milks (first Fairlife, and now some store brands) have come onto the market and were my salvation for continuing to enjoy cocoa instead of tea/coffee. After adding lactase to cleave the sugar I can't digest, the milk is filtered in a way that removes the excess sugar and keeps it from tasting weirdly sweet.

The result tastes more like milk than anything vegan I've tried. "Regular" milk now tastes kind of watery and sweet.

@futurebird @waitworry maybe this is from 加厚 (jiāhòu), which can mean "reinforced" (which makes sense for a water bottle) or, to my eye, "intensify/intensified" (marking a material property as stiffer or bulkier)?

Edit: oh yeah and it usually gets glossed as "thick"/"thickened"

Edit 2: sorry, I see now that the character which seems to be glossed as "thickness" is 巨 (jù), which send better translated as "giant" or "great (in size/stature)." Maybe "thickness" is just some translator bug (heh).
