@InternationalCyberDigest I will put it in the backlog as it's a really interesting topic, we'll keep in touch for technical analysis in the near future

Hello Mastodon π@ghrasko Fair point, most people won't self-host, and that's fine. The goal was never "everyone should run a ThinkPad in their closet." But the 1st steps you mention? That's the real 80/20. Better DNS, no password reuse, a decent email provider. No server needed. And yes, we need more ethical providers in the EU. Informed users and good infrastructure actors go hand in hand. Plenty more to come in the blog, I'm going to talk about privacy-focused actors that care about your privacy in the future

Hello Mastodon π@mboelen Good catch, thank you! Fixed

Hello Mastodon π@Skyper Thanks! Just getting started, plenty more fine print to read! The LinkedIn/Persona one is worth a look if you haven't seen it yet.

Hello Mastodon πHello Mastodon

I'm rogi.
I have a 2014 ThinkPad. I run a blog with β¬5/month. Zero cloud.I read privacy policies so you don't have to.
Last month: an AI had a 24KB psychological profile built from my conversations. Last week: my passport went through 17 US companies just to get a LinkedIn badge. Nobody mentioned that.
That's what I write about. Not paranoia, just what's actually in the documents.
