Today I had a realization, that the main character has the classic 90s angsty "can't be with who he loves" situation, but it's because it was him who died, his girlfriend is doing great. She's married someone Spawn respects, they have a kid, she does all sorts of charity work, and he doesn't want to interfere. It's pretty much the opposite of "fridging" the main character's girlfriend as a call to action.

@cutesobri I'm not sure if you mean the adults are Christians, or if the game itself will be Christian in genre, like angels and miracles and stuff.@cutesobri I'm not sure if you mean the adults are Christians, or if the game itself will be Christian in genre, like angels and miracles and stuff.
If it's the adults, then Grok?! might be a little too psychedelic, depending on how straight laced they are.
If it's the game, GURPS and Fate would both be able to emulate it. If you want to go a step further, you could look for In Nomine, which is sort of a cross between "Touched By An Angel" and "Prophecy," although it's not lightweight:

@cutesobri What's the genre, and are you playing with kids or adults? Also, I am That Guy
.GURPS Ultra Light is free, very simple, uses D6, and conceptually not too far away from D&D:
GURPS Ultra-Lite
It's the power of GURPS in a tiny package! We took the essence of the core GURPS rules and distilled it down to one page! Just print GURPS Ultra-Lite and fold it into a booklet (instructions included). With these rules and three dice, you have a small package for big RPG fun. Play GURPS on road trips. Use one as a book
Warehouse 23 (warehouse23.com)
I've played Grok?!, and it's fairly lightweight, and seems like it would suit your needs:
I've never played Fate, but it uses D6, and can be very lightweight, depending on which version you want. Price is PWYW:
Fate Condensed - Standalone TTRPG - Evil Hat
Get into the story faster with Fate Condensed, a compact version of the Fate Core System TTRPG streamlined for clarity and ease of reference.

I hate this timeline. The first DC locomotive was built in 1837, AC in 1896. The first electric car was built in 1834, and in 1900 38% of the cars in America were electric. No way was an electric car impossible in 1996.

Discover the history of the first electric car: from pioneers Anderson and Davenport in 1834 to the Jamais Contente's record in 1899. A look back at a French invention.

And even if it was, that's why I mentioned fuel cells, which is probably what W was talking about when he mentioned hydrogen. Batteries are better now, but in the 90s fuel cells looked like the better option. In fact, the company I mentioned is still making fuel cells today, apparently they're a good alternative to diesel for busses:
We could have made way more progress than we have in the last 30 years.

Even without fuel cells, DC electric locomotives have existed since 1837, AC since 1894. We could have made much more progress than we have in the last 30 years.

I hate this timeline.Electricity generating wind turbines were invented in 1883. Vancouver has had electric trolley busses since 1948. The first concentrated solar power plant was built in 1968. Germany set up funding for installing photovoltaic roofs in 1989, Japan followed in 1994. Ballard went public in 1993, I remember reading about their fuel cells and electric cars in high school.
All the tech existed in 1996, financial necessity would have pushed innovation a lot harder than environmental foresight did.
Frick, George W Bush advocated for turning to hydrogen as an energy source in his 2003 State Of The Union address, not for the environment, but to make America less dependent on foreign energy. I'm still bitter that environmentalists didn't use that opportunity to latch on to protectionism to sell renewables to conservatives. That could have been 23 years of preparation. Not much choice now.

Message to PM Mark Carney, 2026-04-01Thank you for speaking out against Israel’s illegal invasion of Lebanon.@SPelot There he is, playing peek-a-boo with the sign in the window again.

‘Expect extremely high grocery prices,’ farmer warns as diesel costs rise https://www.ctvnews.ca/world/mideast-conflict/article/expect-extremely-high-grocery-prices-farmer-warns-as-diesel-costs-rise/@dyckron “If we don’t get relief from the government or any sort of help there, expect extremely high grocery prices by September,” he said
Sounds good to me. I'm 100% in favour of bailing out farmers, whether it's drought last year, or fuel costs this year, but that would be easier to do if rural Canada would stop electing the "help the rich and fuck the environment" party.

I really hope that new #NDP leader #AviLewis turns out to be better at the job than he seems like he will be.@ClintonAnderson @Polywog Agreed. Jagmeet Singh got the concessions he did from Justin Trudeau because the NDP held the balance of power in a minority government. PR gives progressives a much better chance to do more than criticize.
I'll completely agree that's It's not the most important thing in and of itself, but I think it would be an excellent first step.

What is a math concept or theorem that you wish there were a better explanation of?@futurebird Like I said, it's been a minute.
I think that may be it, because it's part of why I found integral calculus so hard in university. I understood an integral of a function being the area under it's graph, so it's the sum of all the Y values along the X axis, and I could follow the professor working out the answer, but I couldn't figure out how to make it happen by myself.Mind you, I dropped out and tried a few other things until I discovered that I really like factory work, so grade 10 math more than got me by professionally.

What is a math concept or theorem that you wish there were a better explanation of?@futurebird Sums. As in the functions that begin with a capital Sigma. But it's been so long (class of '97) I don't even remember what part I don't understand.

Would it be better or worse for the United States if Trump was competent ?@the5thColumnist I was just thinking about something similar the other day, that one of the reasons Germany lost WW2 was because little moustache jerk was terrible at strategy. Assassinating him after the war started could have been bad news for the Allies.

@HamiltonsLive To be fair, I'd had enough of that song by the time it was 10 years old.@HamiltonsLive To be fair, I'd had enough of that song by the time it was 10 years old. I still like it, I think it's a good song, I'm just fed up with DJs and remixers acting like it's the only song Metallica ever recorded.

Hundreds of charges laid during St. Patrick’s Day street party celebrations https://www.ctvnews.ca/kitchener/article/hundreds-of-charges-laid-during-st-patricks-day-street-party-celebrations/@dyckron Clearly they didn't have enough hot tubs, bouncy castles, gadsden flags, and "F
ck Carney" signs. -
This post did not contain any content.@bhoutlook This is only true if you're also laid back and open minded. Grouchy bigots suck at any age. But I have met some pretty cool old people.

Hot take: Paladins should not be able to turn the undead.@DM_Zeppelin Countertake: a paladin's zeal for justice is their greatest weapon, that piece of metal they hold is the offhand weapon of their soul.
Yes, in my mind every paladin does contain at least a small amount of The Tick.
