At dinner end up seated with the air force colonel again and another American who I managed to seriously annoy by joking that American history was quaint. He started yelling at me that my home country was a shithole and something about Kamela Harris that I didn’t understand.

After dessert he started going on about how he calls everyone his brother and the country is too divided.

Ok buddy.

Lunch with 3 random passengers today. As luck would have it two were fellow Brits who had just attended a renaissance history conference in SF, one studying the economics of 15th Venetian trading empire. The 3rd was a retired airforce colonel who piloted B52s…
