@deech I always knew this would end in tears. I was surprised how soon, and how repugnant the acquirer. uv was the first time I ever wrote Python and handed it to someone else and they could run it too, and I let my guard down.

I don't stick forks in electric sockets. I don't enter crosswalks when a Tesla is approaching. But I *was* foolish enough to adopt a VC-backed company's dev tooling.

@d6 @deech Circa 1995, third shift support at the local ISP. Customer can't check her e-mail. We go through a few steps until establishing she didn't have access to a computer. But she had a pretty good idea what she'd have done with one!

I am competitive, I am a programmer, and I am disgusted by the phrase "competitive programming."

It's Google Summer of Code season! Celebrate by firing up your Slopomatic 3000 and then badgering tired maintainers with slash commands as though they're bots. Do it in enough repos, and maybe you'll become a "contributor" in about as many repos as you end up banned. Not that you'll visit any of them ever again either way.
