@FranceskaMann @rjohnsonmn So I guess that leaves us with "just give up" as a practical matter, because there's presently no effective way to create viable, capable replacement political parties.

@FranceskaMann @rjohnsonmn to be a problem going into the midterms, and probably moreso in the 2028 cycle, particularly if we win in the '26 midterms and have any success at all.

The short-term-memory mindset of many Americans, along with the propensity of far too many to be so-called "low information" voters, and/or thinking "it's all going to work out somehow" or "it's all hyperbole", could easily put *more* Republicans in office, not fewer, and not more Democrats. ❖

@FranceskaMann @rjohnsonmn Just as those few Republican representatives and senators who've spoken up against Trump — or even voted against Trump — have only done so in excruciatingly narrow and hyper-focused ways in objection to one comparatively minor "bad thing" out of 99 other horrific things, so too we have to contend with voters who *still*, in spite of *everything* that's happened, will act/vote like it's all been hyperbole.

Stereotypical "But her emailz!!!!1!!one!!" voters are going ↲

@FranceskaMann @rjohnsonmn Right now, the only thing we have operating in our favor is the Trump TACO factor. I don't know if this is a result of incompetence, cowardice, or what, and in my view we should be grateful TACO is operative because, otherwise, he would just steamroll over everyone, all the time, and however objectively bad things are now, I'm certain they'd be demonstrably worse.

That being said, unbelievably, "the rest of us" still have to worry about electability of Democrats. ↲
