@ami_angelwings ah, we're doing first name as in given name? So Kira Nerys will be N?
My next choice was going to be Fred from Angel, but technically she starts with W...
...so it's gotta be Faye Valentine from Cowboy Bebop.

Legendary Chinese folk hero Fong Sai-Yuk, as portrayed by Jet Li, with some truly bonkers action sequences by the great Corey Yuen.
@Sobex @ami_angelwings oh yeah, her moral ambiguity is what makes her so great.
@ami_angelwings ah fuck I forgot Lady Eboshi, the very best Ghibli villain
Estraven from Ursula Le Guin's The Left Hand of Darkness. One of the androgynous inhabitants of the Gethen world, he (Le Guin uses male pronouns throughout) imagines a better future for his people, at great sacrifice to his own.
Runner-up: Elethiomel from Iain M. Banks' Use of Weapons, who it is very hard to talk about without spoilers.
D is Diane Nguyen from Bojack Horseman. Voice-actor casting aside (she does an amazing job regardless), I've never felt more seen as a mixed race second generation immigrant. Her stubborn sense of justice, even to the detriment of her relationships, resonates hugely with me too. And the depressive episodes...well, fuck.
@ami_angelwings after choosing an Andor character for B, of course it's gotta be Cassian himself for C (with a shoutout to the ruthless Cinta, and best adoptive Dad, Clem).
"He knows everything he needs to know and feels everything he needs to feel. And when the day comes, and those two pull together, he will be an unstoppable force for good."
Don't worry, it's not going to be Dedra for D though.
The really obvious ones would be Bojack or Buffy, but I'm going to go for (at the risk of just choosing Andor characters for the rest of this series): Brasso.
The most trustworthy friend anyone could want. The choices he makes to protect his comrades make him a legend in my eyes.
And he's an absolute unit too.
Arthur Dent from the Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy. Just wants a nice cup of tea, but is perpetually thwarted by events vastly beyond his control or understanding.
