@ii_infinitum I used to be in that industry (worked with all of the big vendors and a lot of the carriers) and let's just say the time is out of SS7, PSTN, VoIP, X.25. They have mostly outsourced all of that to where ever they get the cheapest people - AI is just an excuse to fire everyone expensive. I would pivot to re-learn everything - that is what I did after spending too long time there in between.

I don't understand how people think they can just re-write chat app without considering how it will be subject to the same dumb regulation discord just has been targeted as first?@anthropy Problem with Discord is that a lot of people can use it that are not into self hosting and are not technical. To replace something like Discord it needs to be usable for people who are not technical.
