I just checked and, despite some sportsball thing having started, we still have #TotP tonight!
I'm not saying it'll be *good* TotP, but...
Huzzah!

Hey. Guess what? The Online Safety Act has successfully protected us from online cycling forums but can't do anything about incitement to riot and spreading dangerous misinformation... Who could have foreseen this?
Any official reprimand will come from regulator Ofcom, but not for at least two months

It seems that, in amongst all the focus on racist riots/pogroms, the NHS has written to the few young people who were still on puberty blockers or HRT to say "fuck you" and remove care from the end of July.
Happy Pride from Labour
Update: Young people & families today received shocking & transphobic letters from NHS. These letters tell people that endocrine care (blockers / HRT) is being fully withdrawn in 7 weeks time (July 31st). Forced medical detransition. This country is a danger to trans children & young people. [contains quote post or other embedded content]

@floppyplopper Staying up after the watershed?
@sortius they try to answer it that second question in the guidance... Basically, "there is no paperwork so looks and vibes will be good enough we guess"
One of my favourite placards from yesterday
(Also praised by the Green Party Councillor speaking)

One really frustrating thing is "don't give your details to the cops... All our campaign group details are on Instagram or Facebook or WhatsApp(?!?)"
Sadly muscles guy has also dispersed 8-(
Lots of talk of solidarity out to other groups... There was another theme in the speeches which I wanted to highlight but it slipped my mind with the chants...
"We're here! We're mad! We're going to trans your Dad!"
"We're here! We're fun! We're going to trans your Mum!"
"HRT HRT"
"Over the counter and for free"
"Gender Affirming Surgery"
"Over the counter..? and for free"
There is everyone you'd expect and... A young guy in a suit and tie..?
Aha! I have found us.... I'm not going to go say hi or anything... That'd require a level of social competence I just don't have... Instead, I'll hang around the edges and look awkward...
Trying to work out where it is - normal place by the Library has a big geodosic dome... Maybe we'll be at the Sylvia Pankhurst statue..?
Police liaison are here already...
But I have applied sunscreen
Reason 10384729 why you do not leave me in charge of placard making or chanting...
What possessed me to try so many Ss?!?

If anyone following me is going to the Manchester protest and wants to say "hi" please do... I won't have a clue how to respond, but I'll do my best...
I should get up so I can breakfast, shower, shave and make my way to Manchester for the protest...
I may even get dressed which will be a treat for all involved...
And if I have time, make a shitty sign...
@gjm I would expect a security deposit to be part of the contract not any pre-contract checks...
A holding deposit takes it off market while checks happening...
It may be worth her contacting her SU Advice Centre (I work for one) or uni service to see if this is a known local problem and options and choices...
Practical options will depend on circumstances and what she wants to do
