*A LOUD SCREAM CAN BE HEARD PIERCING THROUGH NORTH YORKSHIRE*@JenJen jokes aside, there's one thing I'm curious about: have you perceived a difference in your discalculia under medication? Or is that unchanged?

Someone tooted a brief clip of a young man on a panel describing, devastatingly well and simply, the damage technology had wrought on the lives of younger generations. -

When the bubble bursts, do you think the people who grifted for generative "AI" are going to be given a scarlet letter and kicked out of the industry?@sauc3 I'm more of a fatalist in the sense that I believe things go in cycles, so the world as a whole will recover at some point in the future, but I can't guarantee it'll happen in my lifetime —but I'm not going to let that get in the way of doing my own thing without getting dragged into these grifts 8-)

When the bubble bursts, do you think the people who grifted for generative "AI" are going to be given a scarlet letter and kicked out of the industry?@sauc3 let's cry on each other's shoulder for the pain of seeing things happen and knowing how they will end yet being unable to do anything to stop it.

When the bubble bursts, do you think the people who grifted for generative "AI" are going to be given a scarlet letter and kicked out of the industry?@sauc3 I'm not joking, I'm pointing out that these grifters just jump from grift to grift with great ease and no damage. Society has failed to build antibodies against this kind of behavior.

So, Chrome's "web standard" Prompt API:(and obviously Mozilla follows suit, because why are they there if not to suck up to the bully)
-
So, Chrome's "web standard" Prompt API:@jaffathecake @joshhunt it's like the XSLT situation in reverse
Google: we want to drop XSLT support
web developers: we really want you to keep XSLT and possibly upgrade support for v3 of the standard so we can use it with JSON too
Google: OK, we've listened to everybody's opinion and nobody wants XSLT so we're dropping it.

A binman in Turkey’s capital found a bag of thrown-away books on his rounds and couldn’t bring himself to take it to the dump.@Natasha_Jay this actually happened to me. I went to throw away our paper in the paper bin, and found it was chock full of books. I called up my family and we retrieved them all. A few years later I read something similar in the news. Now this. It seems to be surprisingly common, all things considered, and I'm not surprised. Probably related to some old relative dying and the descendants not knowing what to do with the books, I suspect.
