In 9 days, the Rust experiment for Bun became a full rewrite that is now merged. Quite impressive tbh.

Do people actually reads scientific journals?Do people actually reads scientific journals? Like most practitioners tends to avoid them by the plague and fallback to reinventing the wheel for their specific cases, and researchers tends to mostly read papers that seems relevant but without real expectations of understanding all of their implications.
Wouldn't it be more beneficial to publish scientific work in trade magazines, where you can actually write without the obscure writing styles and ACTUALLY be read by people that would care? -
I keep going back to Prof. Dijkstra notes over and over again, there's something hidden in there.Because the naive interpretation of his notes would simply be that software is a sound and total mathematical object specifying a computation, and therefore side-effects are controlled or simply does not exist (side-effects are the things requiring maintenance...).
But there's no world where Prof. Dijkstra would have reduced his vision to this, he was too smart for such a reduction. I'm pretty sure there's something hidden. A gem. -

I don't know what it is, but it's all about this notion that software should not have to be maintained. It is so much real and s much wrong at the same time. I just can't imagine it.
