@killick Yes a shame. Some people don`t like trees as they are too messy in their view, or grow too big, cast too much shade etc. People also get rid of trees too easily, we had new neighbours and the first thing they did was cut the nice rowan tree down in their front garden, on the allotment someone new took a plot on and the first thing they did was cut down the nice apple tree which was on their plot. Makes me nearly cry when I see this.

I had to change how I garden as with climate change my original plantings did not work as well anymore. -

I would have planted lots as well. They are so good for wildlife and in a hot summer it is much nicer to be under trees. People already said to me on hot summer days that it is so nice to have the shade with my trees, I always think then that these people just have to plant some trees too! -

I planted a lot more woody plants with deep roots such as fruit trees, fruit bushes and canes. They provide shade and don`t need watering. I also planted perennial veg such as rhubarb and perennial kale as well as many perennial flowers for wildlife. This means less watering, more shelter, and leaves for mulching. I also have more birds now. #climatechange #gardening

I have built the frog pond a few years ago as the tadpoles always got eaten by the many newts in the larger deeper pond.@xri Thank you
It will look very colourful in summer. It is only just starting. -

The frog pond is more shallow, in full sunshine and warms up more quickly in spring, the frogs love it and the tadpoles have a greater chance of survival. #frogs #wildlife #allotment
