@richrollgardener I just let ours self seed wherever in the garden. It’s easier to weed them out from where we don’t want them (which is almost nowhere) than to sow them, prick them out and plant them. You have a few thousand to give away by the look of it.

@OriginalLucy It should enable growing a fair amount in a small space.

@kingfisher68 I usually plant in early May and start getting fruit in mid July, earlier with the smaller varieties.

@MyWildlifeAllotment That's what I am hoping for: no frost while the fruit trees are flowering. Which means, definitely no frost from now on. :l

@clew @richrollgardener I saw a Attenborough documentary that detailed these kinds of icicles and explained that in some places they are a really important source of high energy food for animals in the spring. Never heard of that before then, which was like a week ago. Interesting to see this in my timeline now

@laurenheywood Lactic Acid Bacteria. I normally would explain the acronyms but I was limited by the character space.I use LAB in several ways:As a foliar spray. As a soil drench to improve tilth.It aids root and leaf growth.It feeds soil biology. I add it to compost. I soak transplants and seeds in it. Our site chair is trialling using some of my LAB to improve tilth of soil that’s spent all last year under mypex. I’ve used some to turn a compacted path into a tilthed bed in 3 wks.

BeetBear reminded me that a year ago today I had to be hauled away in an ambulance because my gall bladder had burst. My daughter stepped in and kept the garden stuff going for a week or so until I recovered. ANYWAY... We started bringing stuff up into the greenhouse to make room for more stuff in the grow room. First up is the cabbage and lettuce, which is looking pretty good. Tomorrow we'll make some decisions on what comes up next.#BeetBear #Gardening #Allotment #NewEngland #Zone6b
