Our Trilliums have returned. They're hard to photograph because they're deep under the base of a large Azalea. They've been happily living here for years and we are happy to see them each spring.#Gardening #Allotment #NewEngland #Zone6b #BloomScrolling

The River Birch (Betula nigra) that shades the front of the property is flowering. The tree is monoecious; separate male & female flowers are on the same plants & this one is quite prolific. Clouds of pollen will soon be engulfing everything & later on, this tree will be dropping MILLIONS of seeds. I've lost track of how many I've propagated & given away over the years. The Gold Finches love to snack on these seeds.#Gardening #allotment #Botany #BloomScrolling #NewEngland #Zone6b

@richrollgardener I just let ours self seed wherever in the garden. It’s easier to weed them out from where we don’t want them (which is almost nowhere) than to sow them, prick them out and plant them. You have a few thousand to give away by the look of it.
