@grumpygamer I've had luck getting people to collaborate via shared links over cryptpad.fr, but somehow I can't get them to make accounts there…

I wish Matrix/Element had the kind of account portability Mastodon has— "social graph portability", let me change addresses while moving my room memberships/spaces on other people's friend lists.

I have never taken advantage of this feature on Mastodon, since on Mastodon I would want to take my post history with me, which you can't. But Matrix doesn't have the same notion of "post history", and also it constantly deletes your old chat histories claiming key errors so who cares

@hongminhee How hard would it be for a future version of ActivityPub to simply back out JSON-LD support? Would there be a downside to this?

It's not like you have to keep using GMail hating it more and more every day because this one single company is the only way you can email anybody."

@firefoxnightly I really don't want to download a web browser that has "AI" components in it. My goal is to have zero "AI" software on my computer. "Present, but turned off" is not good enough; "present, but turned off" is basically a looming threat to turn it on.

VS Code has an off switch for "Copilot". And yet every couple months a Copilot feature slips in by default, somehow. Sometimes they fix this and the off switch gets honored again in the next release, a month later. But only sometimes.
