Agreed. I ran into the mentioned infernal 'fast boot / hibernate' status. I wish I had remembered the "Press Shift while shutting down from the login screen". That would have saved me some time and frustration yesterday.

After more research, it looks like the Adelie Linux project is not as well maintained as their marketing makes it look. Their wiki seems to be down and have been down for a while.

Today, I installed Linux Mint Debian Edition 7 on a ThinkPad T420 laptop for a customer. Dual boot with Windows 10. So I manually created the root partition in the installer. I decided to set up a swap file instead of a partition for swap.#ThinkPad #T420 #debian #LinuxMint

I was able to clear a Windows 10 user password using the 'chntpw' program from a live boot of Linux Mint Debian Edition. I installed the program using apt, as it was not on the live boot, but it is in the repositories. https://packages.debian.org/sid/amd64/chntpwI used to use this program from the Trinity Rescue CD. Cool to know that it is just available from within Debian. #Linux #linuxMint #debian #windows

Right now I am using CloneZilla to make a system image, as a backup, of a customer laptop before I do significant software updates. I want to be able to go back to the way it was if something goes wrong with the software upgrades. #clonezilla #linux
