You can get de-thorned varieties. I ran into some years ago before I knew what they are. Found their characteristic seed pods on the ground and wanted to know what the tree was. They didn't have any thorns. Were located by a city owned water tower I was working at...
@jerzone @jaypeach53 I have a couple of those folding/clamping work tables. I just set one up near the cluttered work bench for the "new" project. Then all the tools and crap on the work bench is handy at hand for the new project nearby on a clean table

@m750 Works out to ~$27 a month. Hard deal to beat for how I use it.
My discontinued DSL was ~$35 per month on top of my AT&T Landline at ~$50 per month. Wasn't any other service in the area other than satellite which everyone said sucked and cost a lot. At this point in time I'm ahead of the game. I've saved more than the price of my two ~$350 phones + Mint for the two of them by the year. Why two phones? Gave me backup in case one crapped out and the original data plan was only 12gb each at the time for tethered use...
@m750 @jerzone The Mint unlimited plan was for mobile data only. Tethered was only 5gb on that plan...
Have two phones on Mint with 20gb data and unlimited talk&text for several years now. Last year in June it came to $323.82 for one phone per year paid in full. It's been that amount (+/- $1 or so) since ~2022.
It runs on the T-Mobile system and they bought out Ryan Reynolds over a year ago now...

@Radaghaz It could be a lot of things. A simple warded lock or a nice, difficult to pick lever lock

If it's a warded lock you might be able to buy a generic set of keys and find one that works in it.

Took this at a local park many years ago. There is a creek running through it and a LOT of Blue Bells in the flood plain.
When you get flowers, watch for Bumble Bees scissoring in from the back. They can't reach the nectar from the front of the flower. "Nectar thief" is the nickname I learned for such behavior. Flower doesn't get pollinated when this is done.
@donray They are often up high in a fully leaved tree. So you kinda need patience and binoculars for a good view. Which I rarely have with me
I recently bought one of these little jobbers. Kinda pricey but has decent optics. The focus is touchy, but expected that after reading reviews. Works decent with my glasses on/off and can close focus really well too.
Was hoping the small size would behove me to bring it along more often for such occasions...

@wplalonde I doubt you'd need to walk far. Once I took note of it as in the photo I began seeing it everywhere. It grows on my driveway, most trees around the yard, rocks... I just hadn't been "seeing" it
@wplalonde I puzzled over similar a couple years ago. My guess is Xanthoria parietina. If you watch close there seems to be some nearly everywhere
