    I hate painting.
    "But it'll just be touching up the bike, that's not really painting."
    I watched videos on touching up, sanding, and polishing a vintage bike, none of which look anything like what I've ended up with. Not that I'm done, I could surely dig myself deeper into this hole.
    And it's not like there's a lot of rust, I just zealously sanded/touched up every tiny ding and rust bloom which has the bike looking pretty splotchy so far.
    Someone sells replacement decals, maybe the plan should be a whole new paint job and decals?? Surely that'll be easier. ';^)

      @jerzone

      You probably should just go ahead and build a paint room first…

        @donray How hard is it to build a sandblaster and bespoke sand?

          @jerzone

          As the saying goes:

          “If it’s worth doing, it’s worth digging a deep hole until both time and money are all used up.”

            @jerzone @donray Do you have an aircompressor large enough to run one?

            HF has an all in one unit that works okay for small spots. Read the reviews first...

            They also sell blast media.

            There's also Evapo-Rust. Usually you soak parts in it but I've heard that laying rags soaked in it on items sorta works too🤷‍♂️
