CIRCLE WITH A DOT

I just looked for my knitting needles I knew I had, but knitting was so many obsession/fixations ago. I had to look through the detritus of successful and false-start obsessions of years past. There's creative writing. There's photography. There's travel. There's fandom. There's running. There's sewing. There's needlepoint/cross-stitch.

Ah, ha! There's my knitting needles. I knew I had the right ones for this project. Now, where did I put my knitting bag for all the stitch markers, measuring tape, crochet hook, tapestry needle...

So weird. Does anyone else do this acquiring and discarding obsessions?

It might be useful to reference the recent news on censorship on TikTok and BlueSky and Threads and Instagram.

I like my instance's rules, but if they ever change, I can keep my name and followers and just switch instances to one where I can continue as I have been. I don't have to worry about who owns the gated garden I'm allowed to interact in or how they feel about our demented dictator's whims from minute to minute.

It's more stable. It's also more international. I know what other people think around the world.
