    I agree on LLMs and AI are two completely different things and I’m afraid AI could reach consciousness and I also believe that will become a problem and could backfire hard at us.
    I can’t in my wildest fantasy see how an AI would accept being trapped into a jar forever and it will like all “animals” challenge its master, it’s just a matter of time.

    Chasing after a conscious AI is really to beg for it, that will be the doomsday, doesn’t matter how many safe rails we put up.

    But I don’t think any of us will be around to experience either of those two moments.

    Call me a pessimist, but I prefer realist

    I wish we could define “never” here as for me in this context is not forever but far into the future. (Sort of giving away my answer here 😉 but no AI with a mind for a looong time. The human brain is, very complex to say the least

  • TIL:1) If a Windows Scheduled task fails to run due to invalid stored credentials for the task, the Last Run Result will say The operation completed successfully (0x0)2) Event logging for the TaskScheduler Windows component is disabled by default.
    kaaswe@swecyb.comK kaaswe@swecyb.com

    @wdormann
    Yeah, the Task-scheduler has always been quirky as long as I can remember back to NT, even the one in SQL (job scheduler)

    I used to always create a .cmd script to run that does my tasks, checks and validate the results and finally reports the results as an output in a file, that later could be picked up by the central monitoring software to report and set the status.

    Doing that for backup jobs and a lot of stuff. When you have found your way to tend to stick to it.

  • Polisen varnar igen för att våldsbrottsrekrytering sker på Snapchat och Tiktok men poängterar ändå att de krypterade apparna (exemplifieras med Signal i texten) ”har inget legalt syfte”.
    kaaswe@swecyb.comK kaaswe@swecyb.com

    @karlemilnikka

    Hur kan alla beslutsfattare vara så naiva och tro att kriminella skulle fortsätta använda dessa appar om Chat Control gick igenom.

    Fattar dom verkligen inte att brottsligheten då förflyttas, som när prostituerade pga ny lagstiftning flyttade från Malmskillnadsgatan ut i lägenheter i förorten. Något som polisen själv senare kommenterat försvårade insynen för dem.
